Drumming at Houston Music Academy is an exciting and inspiring experience. Our program helps you develop not just as a drummer, but as a complete musician. You’ll build a strong foundation in rhythm, technique, and reading, while exploring grooves, styles, and the art of playing in an ensemble. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to rehearse and perform with fellow students, sharing ideas and creating music together in a supportive environment.

Jazz Drum Lessons
Our jazz drum program focuses on time feel, independence, and musicality. You’ll learn to swing, play with brushes, develop solo vocabulary, and work on the subtle nuances that make jazz drumming so expressive. From comping behind a soloist to driving a big band, you’ll gain the tools to thrive in any jazz setting.

Rock Drum Lessons
Our rock drum lessons emphasize power, precision, and groove. You’ll work on essential rock beats, fills, and dynamics while developing strong timekeeping and stage presence. Percussion Ensemble
